Our Journey


 

Tap & Tipple began life more than 13 months ago, and was started by me, Helen Chapman. Having worked in the same corporate industry for over a decade, I had a realisation that I needed a new challenge.

Exploring Pinterest one day, I came across the story of a brave single female that had purchased a caravan in California and renovated it into a mobile bar facility. I instantly fell in love with this concept and thereafter started exploring the possibility of setting up something similar on this side of the pond.  Excited by the prospects and challenge of this new venture I was keen to get things up and running and so I began researching caravan renovations and pricing vintage caravans on various auction sites.

After a number of weeks and after a particularly bad day at work in the corporate world, I decided to go for it and as luck would have it, there just happened to be a live auction on a beautiful 1980 Castleton Caravan with 20 minutes left to go. After a tense countdown the caravan was mine and within 24 hours of winning that auction, I had arranged for the collection and shipment of the said caravan from Cambridge to my house in Manchester.

Fortunately, the work that the caravan needed was not too extensive. I was able to refurbish the caravan and in no time at all, I had a mobile bar, ready for events.

Since those beginnings, Tap & Tipple has attended a number of special events from weddings to private parties. We love being part of these amazing days, and we are passionate about making your day one to remember. You put a lot of effort and time into organising your wedding or birthday party and you can be sure that we’ll do the same. If there is anything you need to make your party better, we’ll always go the extra mile to get it done for you.

How can I hire Tap & Tipple?

If you need a quote, simply contact us by phone or email. We’ll have a very quick discussion about your event and the number of guests. We’ll then be able to prepare a quote. From then, we can then begin to plan for your event.

 

Can you create special cocktails for my event?

Of course, let us know what you have in mind, and we’ll be able to create something special for your day.

What happens if you run out of alcohol?

This has yet to happen, as we always bring more stock than we need, so we are always prepared if your guests are thirstier than anticipated.

 

Does the Caravan need any utilities?

Yes, the caravan does need to be hooked up to an electric mains facility. Typically, we would expect this facility to be provided by the hosting venue, however, if that isn’t possible, Tap & Tipple can provide a generator for an additional fee.

 

Do you have insurance?

Yes, we are fully insured with public liability and employer liability insurance.
 

How much are drinks?

The sell price for your drink options for the guests at your event will be communicated and included in the initial quote.
